The hours leading up to the ceremony hold a special place, it’s a time of anticipation, excitement, and quiet reflection. Whether it’s the laughter shared with your family, bridesmaids/wedding party, or the quiet contemplation as you read your vows to yourself, these sweet moments offer a glimpse into the emotions of the day. They serve as a testament to the love, joy, and vulnerability that you share as you take this momentous step together. As you prepare for your wedding day here are a few tips and things to consider for the day of to ensure you get the best photos.
- If you are choosing a getting-ready space, remember that natural light is ideal. If you can, make sure there is natural light in the room where each of you will be getting ready (window light, the more windows and space the better).
- As everyone is getting ready in the space, it is very helpful that before the photographer arrives, you make sure the room is cleaned. If there is a bed in the room, make sure it’s made. If you’ve had food delivered, tidy up empty containers. This makes a world of difference in your images and our timeline! I Promise!
- Have all the bridal details together before I arrive. (Dress, jewelry, shoes, bouquet, garter, veil, rings, etc) This will make the detail shots faster and is a great task for one of your bridesmaids/wedding party
- Don’t forget to ask your florist for extra blooms to be delivered to you before the photographer arrives
- Have a nice hanger to hang your outfit on
- Allow more time than you think you need to get ready! Particularly for hair and make-up. It’s better to be relaxed than RUSHED!
- Before you get into your wedding outfit, have whomever you want helping you already in their outfit including shoes. Pick this person ahead of time and let them know.
- Relax and have fun! You’re getting MARRIED!!
